Ha Long University works online with PUM Netherlands Senior Experts on project registration for expert support

On the afternoon of October 16, 2024, Ha Long University held an online meeting with PUM Netherlands Senior Experts to discuss the content of project registration for expert request in the field of Hospitality Management.

Attending the meeting, from the PUM Organization, there were Mr. Tran Quoc Long, Chief Representative of PUM in Vietnam; Mr. Fred Klingeman – Head of Education and Training Sector; Ms. Patty van der Kleij – Head of Tourism Sector. Representatives from Ha Long University were Dr. Phan Thi Hue – Vice Rector, Mrs. Le Minh Thuy – Deputy Head of Hotel – Restaurant Department, Faculty of Tourism, and representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Research Management.

PUM (in Dutch, Programma Uitzending Managers), founded in 1978 by the Dutch employers’ association (VNO-)NCW, is a non-profit organization specializing in supporting, providing experts and consulting without charging fees. PUM consists of more than 3,200 Dutch experts, 1,700 volunteers at 150 representative offices in more than 30 countries.

PUM’s headquarters is located in The Hague with 50 staff members and 80 volunteers running all PUM activities worldwide. Since 1978, PUM has supported over 40,000 entrepreneurs worldwide. Every year, PUM shares knowledge and experience in 45 different fields with 1,600 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), educational and vocational training organizations in developing countries.

Ha Long University has received a total of 03 experts from the PUM Organization, including 02 times receiving experts on Tourism and 01 expert on Environment.

Ha Long University earnestly look forward to receiving experts in the field of Hotel & Resort Management to train lecturers, thereby improving the professional qualifications of lecturers as well as improving the training quality of the Faculty of Tourism.

The representatives of PUM Organization highly appreciated the inclination to receive experts of Ha Long University and planned to send experts in March 2025. The two sides discussed the appropriate time to receive experts, the fields that the University expects to have training sessions about, and the plans for in-depth training for lecturers.
