On the morning of December 10, 2025, Ha Long University formally welcomed and held a working session with a delegation of universities from Yunnan Province, China, led by Mr. LI JUN – President of Yunnan Forestry University. This activity took place within the framework of the 6th Red River Basin University Presidents’ Forum, hosted by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Tran Trung Vy – Party Secretary and Vice Rector of Ha Long University, together with leaders from the Office of International Cooperation and Research Management, the Faculty of Tourism, the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Department of Economics, the Office of Training, and other related units.

Overview of the working session

The delegation from Yunnan consisted of 23 members, including leaders of higher education institutions across the province, with Mr. LI JUN serving as Head of Delegation. In a friendly and open atmosphere, the two sides exchanged in-depth discussions on potential areas of cooperation such as training programs, scientific research, academic exchange, and cultural exchange for lecturers and students.

Within the program, the delegation visited Ha Long University’s lecture halls, laboratories, practice rooms, and library. The leaders from Yunnan universities expressed high appreciation for the university’s facilities, development orientation, and strategies for expanding international cooperation. They showed particular interest in joint training programs, student exchange models, international internships, and collaborative research projects in science–technology and culture.

The working session opened up promising opportunities for practical cooperation, contributing to strengthened educational linkages among universities in the region. The visit not only reaffirmed Ha Long University’s role within the regional academic network but also created opportunities for its lecturers and students to experience a multicultural academic environment, broaden their perspectives, and enhance their capacity for international integration.

At the conclusion of the program, both sides agreed to maintain communication in order to soon implement specific cooperation activities in the near future. The visit and working session concluded successfully, leaving positive impressions and contributing to the fostering of friendship and educational cooperation between Ha Long University and universities in Yunnan Province, China.
