On May 8, 2025, Ha Long University, in collaboration with volunteers from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organized a vibrant Summer Festival for primary school students of the Pedagogical Practice School of Ha Long University

The event was initiated by Ms. Miyake Akiho – a JICA volunteer currently working at the Pedagogical Practice School of Ha Long University – with great support from the Department of Japanese Language, Faculty of Foreign Languages of Ha Long University, the school’s teachers, and other JICA volunteers currently working in Vietnam.

The Summer Festival, rich in Japanese cultural elements, offered students a variety of engaging activities such as traditional Japanese folk games, learning about customs, traditional clothing, and basic Japanese communication. This was not only a fun and hands-on way for the students to explore a foreign culture, but also a meaningful opportunity to foster Vietnam–Japan friendship and deepen cultural understanding among the young Vietnamese generation.
