On the morning of March 25, 2025, Ha Long University held an important working session with PUM (Netherlands) to discuss potential cooperation opportunities in education and scientific research. This meeting marks a significant step in the university's strategy to enhance education quality and integrate internationally.

Representing Ha Long University at the meeting were Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep - Rector, Ms. Bui Thu Thuy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Mr. Chu Luong Tri – leader of the Faculty of Environment, and leader of Office of International Cooperation and Science Management. On behalf of PUM, Mr. Sven Olov Dekker, Coordinator and Chief Representative of PUM in Vietnam, Mr. Bert Jan Post, National Coordinator of PUM in Vietnam, and Mr. Tran Quoc Long, Representative of PUM in Vietnam, were in attendance.

The view of the meeting

PUM (Programma Uitzending Managers), established in 1978 by the Dutch Association of Entrepreneurs and Industry, is a non-profit organization that provides free expert advice and support. With over 3,200 experts and 1,700 volunteers operating across 150 representative offices in more than 30 countries, PUM has assisted over 40,000 companies worldwide. Since its inception, PUM has shared its knowledge in over 45 fields with more than 1,600 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and vocational education organizations in developing countries. Ha Long University has previously hosted three experts from PUM, including two in tourism and one in environmental management.

During the working session, both parties discussed potential areas of cooperation. Ha Long University expressed the desire to receive experts and volunteers from is interested in collaborating on communication initiatives to raise community awareness about biodiversity and natural resources. We also aim to develop training programs related to artificial intelligence—a field that is becoming increasingly important in the digital era.

Beyond professional exchanges, the meeting also opened up numerous opportunities for both sides to build a sustainable partnership in the future. PUM representatives highly appreciated the development potential of Ha Long University and committed to supporting the institution by providing experts and strategic advisory, meet international integration demands, in order to improve the University’s training quality.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to work together to promote specific cooperation activities in the near future. With the support from PUM, Ha Long University aims to enhance its teaching quality, meet international integration demands, and achieve sustainable development.
