On the morning of May 15, 2025, Ha Long University held an online meeting with Mr. Takebe Tsutomu – Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance and Special Advisor to Ha Long University – to discuss the development direction of the Japanese Language and Culture Center at Ha Long University.

Attending the meeting on behalf of Ha Long University were Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep – Rector of Ha Long University, Dr. Phan Thi Hue – Vice Rector, leaders of the Department of International Cooperation and Science Management, representatives of the Japanese Language Department (Faculty of Foreign Languages), and representatives of the Information and Library Center. The meeting took place in an open and productive atmosphere, reflecting the strong mutual interest in enhancing educational and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

The view of the online meeting

During the meeting, the two sides discussed specific plans to improve the effectiveness and elevate the Japanese Language and Culture Center. These include organizing high-quality Japanese language proficiency programs with certification, developing regular cultural exchange activities, and connecting students with scholarship and internship opportunities in Japan. Mr. Takebe Tsutomu expressed strong support for the university’s initiatives and affirmed his commitment to continue serving as a bridge between Ha Long University and Japanese educational institutions, enterprises, and localities.

Speaking at the meeting, the Rector of Ha Long University emphasized that the Center for Japanese Language and Culture is one of the university's key initiatives in its education internationalization strategy, contributing to improving students’ language skills, cultural understanding, and international employment opportunities.

The meeting opened up many new prospects for collaboration and marked an important milestone in the close relationship between Ha Long University and its Japanese partners, especially with the valuable companionship and support from Mr. Takebe Tsutomu.
