On 8 July 2026, Ha Long University participated in the 2026 China–ASEAN Tourism Education Alliance (CATEA) Online Meeting, which brought together higher education institutions and tourism education partners from China and ASEAN countries.

During the meeting, Ha Long University explored opportunities for cooperation with Chinese partners in the context of the increasingly strengthened relationship between Quang Ninh Province (Viet Nam) and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China). At the meeting between the leaders of the two localities on 7 July 2026, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in education, high-quality human resource development, scholarship exchange, and institutional partnerships between Ha Long University and higher education institutions in Guangxi.

Looking ahead, Ha Long University aims to further expand collaboration with partners in China and ASEAN through joint education and research activities, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural exchange programmes. These initiatives are expected to contribute to improving educational quality, promoting internationalisation, and developing a highly qualified tourism workforce.
