On September 20, 2026, Dr. Phan Thi Hue, Vice Rector of Ha Long University, attended and delivered a presentation at the 14th Vietnam–China People’s Forum, themed “Working Together to Elevate the Building of a Vietnam–China Community with a Shared Future of Strategic Significance to a New Level.”

The Forum was held in Wuyi Mountain, Nanping City, Fujian Province, China, and jointly organized by the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The event brought together experts and representatives from government agencies, universities, media organizations, businesses, and people’s organizations of both countries.

At the opening ceremony, the Vietnamese delegation was led by Mr. Dong Huy Cuong, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations. The Chinese side was represented by Mr. Yang Wanming, President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; Mr. Yuan Min Dao, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries; and experts from Chinese research institutions, academic organizations, and other organizations.

During the second discussion session, themed “Promoting Practical Cooperation and Strengthening Shared Interests in Vietnam–China Relations,” Dr. Phan Thi Hue, Vice Rector of Ha Long University, delivered a presentation entitled “Strengthening Vietnam–China Shared Interests through Higher Education Cooperation: Directions and Prospects from Ha Long University.”

The presentation highlighted the role of higher education cooperation in strengthening people-to-people connectivity, developing human resources, and establishing long-term shared interests between Vietnam and China.

Drawing on Ha Long University’s practical experience, the presentation emphasized several areas in which cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries could be further promoted, including joint and collaborative training programs; cooperation in internship programs and human resource development; research and technology transfer; support for lecturers, experts, and scholarships; Vietnamese language training; and cultural exchanges.

The presentation also highlighted the role of universities in connecting knowledge, people, and localities of the two countries, thereby laying a foundation for more practical cooperation in training, scientific research, student exchange, and cultural exchange in the years ahead.

Through the Forum, Ha Long University had an opportunity to introduce its capabilities, cooperation orientations, and experience in higher education, while further expanding its network with Chinese educational institutions, research organizations, and partners.
