Within the framework of the international cooperation program and the development of a strategic partnership in training and scientific research, on October 30, 2025, the delegation of Ha Long University paid a visit and held a working session with the University of Girona (Spain).

The working delegation of Ha Long University visiting Spain included Dr. Tran Trung Vy (Secretary of the Party Committee), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quy Giang (Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Science Management), and Mr. Le Manh Ha, M.A. (Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology).

The University of Girona is a public university under the administration of the city government of Girona, with an enrollment of over 15,000 students. Tourism is one of its flagship disciplines, with more than 1,000 students. The training programs in tourism are closely linked to heritage conservation and sustainable environmental management.

During the working session, the delegation also visited the workplaces and lecture halls of the Faculty of Tourism. During the meeting, both sides discussed tourism training models associated with digital transformation, the application of AI and big data in analyzing tourism trends, and student exchange programs aimed at developing a high-quality workforce that meets the demands of smart tourism development. During the visit, the delegation also met Ms. Maria Dolors Vidal Casellas, a member of the editorial board of the Scientific Journal of Ha Long University, and presented her with an issue featuring her published article.

Dr. Tran Trung Vy presented a souvenir during the visit to the University of Girona (Spain).

The delegation also exchanged scientific publications on tourism with the Faculty of Tourism, University of Girona (Spain).

The meeting took place in a warm, open, and productive atmosphere, marking an important step forward in expanding Ha Long University’s international cooperation. It also reaffirmed the university’s role as a center for training, research, and knowledge transfer in tourism and technology in Northeastern Vietnam.
