On April 11, 2026, Ha Long University successfully held the final round of "Japan’s Got Talent in HALOU". The event served as a meaningful activity to honor the beauty of Japanese culture, while also creating a creative and enriching platform for students who are passionate about the language and culture of the Land of the Rising Sun.

The program was organized by the Japanese Language Department with the support of the Office of International Cooperation and Science Management, bringing four volunteers from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to participate and interact with the contestants. The presence of JICA volunteers provided valuable opportunities for Japanese-major students of the University to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture and people, while also strengthening connections and promoting the image of Ha Long University to international partners.

The contestants, who are Japanese-major students, had the opportunity to showcase impressive performances, demonstrating creativity, passion, and profound knowledge of Japanese culture through three competition categories:

  • Singing: Performing J-pop songs, anime soundtracks, Japanese ballads, and other works that reflect the spirit of Japanese culture.
  • Drama and Cosplay: Presenting short plays and transforming into famous anime/manga characters with meaningful messages.
  • Creative Products: Displaying paintings, posters, and design works inspired by Japanese culture, combined with idea presentations.

The performances were carefully prepared, harmoniously combining artistic expression with cultural elements, offering the audience vivid and memorable experiences. More than just an artistic playground, the competition also contributed to improving training quality, encouraging students to develop comprehensively in professional knowledge, foreign languages, and soft skills. It also provided an opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of Japan, thereby fostering friendship and international cooperation.

The event clearly demonstrated Ha Long University’s orientation toward international integration, particularly in strengthening cooperation with international organizations, especially those from Japan. Through this activity, the University continues to affirm its role as a bridge for cultural and educational exchange between the two countries.

At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes and certificates of merit to outstanding individuals and groups, recognizing their efforts and talents. The success of the final round of “Japan’s Got Talent in HALOU – Japanese Cultural Talent Search” left a strong impression, contributing to spreading the love for Japanese culture and building a dynamic, creative, and internationally oriented learning environment at Ha Long University.
