On May 19, 2026, a delegation from Ha Long University, led by Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep – Rector of the University, paid an official visit and held a working session with Mr. Takebe Tsutomu and the TOA Soken organization in Tokyo, Japan. The visit opened up new prospects for the development of the Japanese Language major and career opportunities for students.
During the meeting, on behalf of the University, Dr. Nguyen Duc Tiep expressed his sincere gratitude to Mr. Takebe Tsutomu for his significant contributions and dedicated support over the years, particularly in the establishment and development of the Japanese Language major. In an open and constructive atmosphere, both sides frankly discussed current challenges and obstacles, and together sought practical solutions to create more opportunities for students to study and work in Japan.

The meeting focused on several key areas for future cooperation, including:
Development of the Japanese Language major: Continuing to innovate training programs and improve teaching quality to meet the standards of the international labor market, especially in practical Japanese language training and Japanese workplace and cultural studies, as well as understanding Japanese organizations and enterprises operating in Vietnam.
Expansion of internship and employment opportunities: Strengthening cooperation with TOA Soken to connect with enterprises and develop high-quality internship programs, creating a solid foundation for students before officially working in Japan.
Proposal for engineering students: Notably, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu introduced an innovative proposal to bring engineering students from Ha Long University to Japan for employment opportunities. Specifically, these students would participate in infrastructure renovation and upgrading projects, such as railway stations, ports, and other essential facilities. This would provide engineering students with valuable experience in a professional working environment and access to advanced technologies.

Listening to the University’s proposals and aspirations, Special Advisor Takebe Tsutomu stated that despite the current challenges and difficulties, he would continue to strongly support and accompany the University in its future development journey. He also shared that he has been actively working and engaging with central and local authorities in Japan to help Ha Long University achieve its mission and strategic vision toward 2030.
The business trip on May 19 marked an important milestone, not only reaffirming the close and positive relationship between Special Advisor Takebe Tsutomu and Ha Long University, but also demonstrating the University’s strong commitment to improving training quality and promoting international integration, with the ultimate goal of creating sustainable value and career opportunities for students.
