On the morning of August 21, 2026, Ha Long University held a working session with a delegation of government officials and university students from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The program provided an opportunity for both sides to strengthen exchanges and connections and explore opportunities for cooperation in education and training, student exchange, and Vietnam–Japan cultural exchange.

Attending the program, on behalf of Ha Long University were Dr. Phan Thi Hue, Vice Rector; representatives of the Office of International Cooperation and Scientific Management; and lecturers and staff from the Japanese Language Division.

At the working session, representatives of Ha Long University gave an overview of the University's establishment and development, training scale, key academic programs, international cooperation activities, and orientations for expanding relations with Japanese educational institutions and local authorities.

Over the years, Ha Long University has consistently focused on strengthening international cooperation, particularly with Japanese partners, through student exchange programs, cultural exchange activities, foreign language training, volunteer programs, academic networking, and opportunities for students to study and gain practical international experience.

During the program, representatives from both sides shared information on educational environments, student life, training activities, and international exchange programs. The discussions also provided an opportunity for both sides to explore potential areas of cooperation in the future, particularly Japanese language training, student exchange, cultural exchange, experiential programs, and networking activities.

The student exchange session took place in a friendly and lively atmosphere. Students had the opportunity to learn more about Shiga Prefecture and Japanese culture through vivid and engaging presentations by Japanese students. The program continued with group activities and Vietnam–Japan cultural exchange activities, helping students from the two countries build stronger connections and deepen their mutual understanding.
