Training Objectives and Learning Outcomes:

1.1. Training Objectives:

The Master's program in English Language is designed based on the integration of foundational theoretical knowledge in applied linguistics and cultural studies with contemporary debates on the dynamics of language and culture in the era of science, technology, and globalization.

On this foundation, the program provides learners with various perspectives on the multidimensional relationship between language, culture, politics, economics, and technology; thereby drawing fundamental applications in language teaching, translation, and communication activities.

Additionally, the program also equips students with research capabilities in the field of applied linguistics. By focusing on addressing contemporary language issues, the program is suitable for learners who are language instructors, foreign language teachers, and translators seeking to meet new demands in their work.

1.2. Learning Outcomes

Upon graduation from the Master's program in English Language, students will achieve the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes:

Knowledge:

  • Master foundational knowledge in linguistics and cultural studies to apply in acquiring in-depth knowledge in the field of English language teaching theory and methodology and translation (in the direction of translation).
  • Conduct assessments of learning outcomes scientifically, in accordance with training objectives.

Skills:

  • Proficiently and professionally apply language skills in scientific research and communication in the workplace.
  • Select and utilize tools and software for application in teaching and translation; evaluate and design programs in educational environments.
  • Assess and effectively use contemporary research outcomes to continuously innovate in practice.

Autonomy and Responsibility:

  • Develop lifelong self-learning abilities and proactively research, update, and apply professional knowledge to meet the ever-changing needs of society.
  • Demonstrate a sense of responsibility, ability to collaborate, work in teams, professional ethics, and an understanding of diversity in the workplace and in other social relationships.

1.3. Career Opportunities and Positions After Graduation

  • Participate in teaching at universities and colleges both domestically and internationally.
  • Work as a translation specialist and/or engage in research projects related to teaching and translation at research institutions, universities, colleges, and training centers both domestically and internationally.

2. Duration of Study:

The total duration of the program is 2 years. Depending on the individual circumstances of the students, the time to study until successfully defending the thesis may be extended to a maximum of 4 years.

3. Total Credit Load for the Program: 60 credits
