Within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility – KA171 Project, Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen Trang, a lecturer from Faculty of Arts, Ha Long University, was selected to participate in an academic exchange programme at the Conservatorio Statale di Musica Gaetano Braga, Teramo, Italy in March 2026.

This programme provided a valuable opportunity for the University’s lecturer to access a professional artistic training environment in Europe – the cradle of classical music – while also demonstrating international partners’ recognition of the academic competence and integration potential of Ha Long University’s teaching staff.

The programme aimed to develop training content, enhance lecturers’ professional capacity, and improve piano teaching methodologies for intermediate-level students. At the same time, it contributed to expanding understanding of music teacher education models in Europe. The programme also created important opportunities to strengthen academic connections, promote professional exchange with international lecturers, and gradually establish a foundation for sustainable cooperation between Ha Long University and prestigious music institutions worldwide.

During the programme, Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen Trang actively participated in a wide range of professional activities, including observing piano and ensemble classes at different levels; engaging in direct discussions with the Conservatory’s leadership, professors, lecturers, and Erasmus+ international coordinators; and visiting modern facilities such as concert halls, individual practice rooms, and specialized libraries. In addition, direct interaction with international students provided practical insights into curricula, repertoire approaches, and performance techniques within an advanced academic environment.

The exchange programme serves as a foundation for Ha Long University to expand its international academic network, update modern teaching methodologies—particularly in the field of arts—and enhance the ability to work in a multicultural environment. These are essential factors in improving training quality and meeting the demands of educational innovation in the context of global integration.

Based on the experience gained, the lecturer has proposed several practical solutions to improve training quality at Ha Long University, including developing internationally oriented curricula, innovating piano teaching methods to integrate technical skills with musical thinking, enhancing classroom interaction, and encouraging students to actively express their artistic perspectives.

Participation in this training mobility programme in Italy not only brings practical benefits to the Faculty of Arts but also holds significant importance for the University as a whole in improving educational quality, promoting international integration, and affirming its position in arts education. It also reflects the University’s strategic direction in developing high-quality teaching staff to meet the demands of innovation and integration in the current context.

In the coming time, Ha Long University will continue to promote international cooperation activities, creating more opportunities for lecturers and students to participate in academic exchange programmes, thereby disseminating knowledge, enhancing professional capacity, and contributing to the sustainable development of higher education.
