1. The final of the contest “Students with start-up ideas at Ha Long University in 2021.”
On the afternoon of October 21, in Uong Bi City, Ha Long University held the final of the contest “Students with start-up ideas at Ha Long University in 2021”.

8 out of 18 creative start-up ideas by students at Ha Long University are selected to the final round.
Most of the ideas focus on the proposal to build and develop the agriculture and fishery industry towards sustainability and environmental friendliness; establish websites and channels to promote Quang Ninh tourism and services based on digital technology; manufacture and recycle several household products and decorations from recycled materials for daily living; create online learning websites. According to the prescribed evaluation criteria, the Jury awarded 01 first prize, 01second prize, 01 third prize, and 05 consolation prizes.
– The idea winning the first prize: “Using shrimp pond water to produce and improve the value of spirulina (Spirulina platensis) to contribute to environmental protection of the bay.” – the authors: students of Faculty of Fisheries.
– The idea winning the second prize “The project of a channel to promote Quang Ninh tourism services on the digital platform of Youtube – QN’s Colorful Journey.” – the authors: students of the Faculty of Tourism
– The idea winning the third prize: “Using the outer shell of instant noodles for household products and decorations,” the authors: students of the Faculty of Environment
05 ideas won the Consolation prize: “Online English learning website”; “Building breeding model and an F1 Koi hatchery which are friendly with the environment in Quang Ninh”; “Developing a smart agricultural ecosystem to increase production value and protect the environment”; ”Mobile restaurant business project – Quang Ninh’s Food Truck in Ha Long city”; “Healthcare.”

2. Welcome Freshmen 2021 – 2022
On the evening of October 21, 2021, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ha Long University held a Welcome Freshmen program, the school year 2021 – 2022.
The Gala includes the following programs: awarding scholarships to valedictorian students, poor students overcoming difficulties, introducing activities of the University’s clubs, extracurricular activities of the Youth Union to create conditions for first-year students to familiarize themselves with the environment of Ha Long University.

3. Ha Long University’s Youth Union participates in the 2nd Youth Day, Voluntary Blood Donation in 2021
On October 23, 2021, the Youth Union of Ha Long University participated in the Youth Day program “I love my country” and volunteered blood donation organized by the Union of Provincial Agencies at the Ethnic minority boarding High School residing in Quang Ninh province.
The festival’s main activity is to propagate the prevention of social evils (drugs, prostitution, HIV/AIDS, etc.) to youth union members and students to raise their sense of responsibility to society, reducing social evils.
The festival started with the Voluntary Blood Donation program, which took place from 7:00 am on October 23, 2021, at the hospital of Quang Ninh province.
In the Golden Bell challenge, the Youth Union of Ha Long University had 10 participants, in which Comrade Dang Thi Thu Hang, K4A English Language Branch, excellently won the second prize.
In the Propaganda and Prevention of Social Evils section, Ha Long University’s delegation went through 3 contests: knowledge about traffic safety and social evils, propaganda skits, talent, and excellence, and won the third prize at the contest.
The festival took place successfully, leaving a deep impression on each youth union member, contributing to raising awareness in preserving and promoting good traditions for the community’s life. This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Federation (October 15, 2021 – October 15, 2021).

On the morning of October 29, in Uong Bi City, Ha Long University held the opening ceremony of the school year 2021-2022 and announced the Certificate of Accreditation of Educational Institutions.
In 2021-2022, Ha Long University welcomes more than 1,900 new students, nearly 40% higher than the enrollment target. Currently, the whole school has over 7,000 students and students in 3 training systems: Intermediate, College, University, focusing on four fields: Tourism, services; Foreign Language; Engineering, Technology, and Humanities.

To successfully carry out the tasks of the school year 2021-2022, all staff, lecturers, and students at the school unite and are determined to emulate teaching, learning, and scientific research, implementing a good motto: “The learner is the center, the school is the foundation, the teacher is the driving force.” At the same time, focus on crucial tasks: Maintain safe teaching and learning environment, adapt flexibly, strictly control the Covid-19 epidemic; focus on completing three university training programs, opening new training disciplines associated with rapidly increasing the enrollment scale of the university system; prioritizing resources, focusing on improving the school’s capacity; strengthen practical cooperation with universities, research institutes, prestigious organizations at home and abroad; strengthen and enhance research, application, and transfer of science and technology capacity among lecturers and students; continue to develop extra-curricular activities in depth; opening new training disciplines associated with the development of training programs according to output standards.
At the opening ceremony, Ha Long University announced the Certificate of “Meeting educational quality standards issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.”
On this occasion, the School’s Board of Directors commended and rewarded two valedictorians and 20 students with high achievements in study and training received scholarships awarded by units and businesses in the area with over 156 million VND.
